Tennessee Martial Arts Academy was founded in 2002 by Brad Frazier and Debbie Miller. Mr. Frazier and Mrs. Miller's vision of their martial-arts studio was simple: To develop their students’ physical and mental well-being through teaching, caring, and living a life of example. Their dream was to give back to their community what the art of Taekwondo had given them.

After more than 20 years of serving the Smyrna community, TNMAA is still committed to the same purpose. Whether you seek exercise, self-defense, confidence, stress relief, goal setting, better focus in school, channeling hyper activity, TNMAA is dedicated to helping you achieve your goals.

Specialized Instructor

Debbie Miller, originally from Louisiana, relocated with her family to Murfreesboro, TN, raising her three children in the area. She has spent almost 20 years dedicating herself to mastering the art of Taekwondo, reveling in the intricate movements and fluidity of the sport. A 2nd degree black belt in Traditional Style Taekwondo, Mrs. Miller has cross-trained in the areas of Filipino martial arts and weaponry, Japanese Aikido, kickboxing, and self-defense.

Mrs. Miller opened TNMAA in 2002 with the purpose of exposing her community to the traditional South Korean culture, patterns and movements of Taekwondo, one of her life’s passions. She is motivated to continue her pursuits in Taekwondo because, “the art and movement of each intricate skill of the patterns are beautiful and challenging in their precision when masterfully executed.”

Mrs. Miller functions as the Financial Administrator for TNMAA.  You can also find her working with students on an individual basis, mentoring and coaching them on the detailed movements and sparring techniques; in addition to working with students to achieve focus and self-confidence as they face life’s challenges. As an instructor, Mrs. Miller thrives on, “the opportunity to spend sometimes several years with her students; being positively involved in each child’s life; watching their achievements and personal growth through their own Taekwondo journey.”

When Mrs. Miller is not at TNMAA managing the financials or helping students master Taekwondo, you can find her on Center Hill Lake boating and relaxing.
